Task 1

Research the designer Mary Quant

Create a profile of  Mary Quant which includes information and images. This should be 2 sides of A4 or one page of A3.  include the answers to the following questions:

What years was she popular in?

What was she famous for?

Describe this item?

What materials did she use?

What was she well known for?

What was her first shop called and where was this?

What was special about this shop?

What parts of her brand became more accessible?

What era was she famous in? Describe the key events of this era including the youth culture, musical influence and role of women.

 

Task 2

Research and create a designer profile on Alexander McQueen.

Option to watch a film on Amazon currently available to rent for £3.49 called ‘McQueen’.

Create a profile which includes information and images. This should be 2 sides of A4 or one page of A3 and include the answers to the following questions

Where did he train?

What were his beginnings/ early life?

Who gave him his big break?

Which fashion house did he work for?

What was his specialism?

Include his most famous pieces?

Include some of his most famous collections?

What was he inspired by?

 

Task 3

Create a timeline of key designers and influential movements in textiles and fashion design from 1900- present day.

 

Why is this required for September?
In A Level you are expected to know about the below designers.
