Attendance – students are expected to attend all lessons as outlined on their timetables. Post 16 Study is regarded as one of the most challenging times in a students education. Attendance to lessons supports students progress during this challenging time. Students should also use study periods in school to complete academic independent study.
Sixth Form students are expected to be in school from 08.55-15.35. Students have permission to leave the school site for their break and lunch time.
Period 1: 8.55am – 9.55am
Period 2: 9.55am – 11.00am
Tutor Period: 11.05am –11.35am
Break: 11.35am – 11.50am
Period 3: 11.55am – 12.55pm
Lunch: 12.55pm – 1.30pm
Period 4: 1.30pm – 2.30pm
Period 5: 2.35pm – 3.35pm
When students do not have a lesson, they can use the sixth form study rooms to complete independent work.
Attitude and Academic Progress – students are expected to demonstrate a commitment to their academic study and work throughout the course. Students should utilise study periods to complete coursework, set homework and independent study this should be supported with a comprehensive programme of study and work completed at home. Developing appropriate study habits will support students achievement and prepare students for the next phase of their educational journey.
Sixth Form Role Models – Sixth Formers are able to attend school in smart casual clothing this should be suitable for a school and professional environment. Students should conduct themselves round school with the highest standards and a professional approach other students in school should see Sixth Formers as role models and aspire to be like them.
Student Expectations – The Sixth Form Office should be contacted in case of any absences, current or upcoming. This could include medical appointments, interviews or driving tests etc.
