Student Expectations

Attendance – Post 16 students are expected to attend school every day from 08:55 until 15:25 for all lessons outlined on their timetables as well as study periods. Good attendance supports students progress and achievement. Where students are absent from lessons it is expected that students should catch up on missed work completed in lessons. Students will remain on site for allocated study periods and complete these in the Sixth Form area or department areas as agreed. Students are permitted to leave the school site at break time or lunchtime; however, students should be back on site to ensure they arrive punctually to the next lesson or study period. Students are expected to swipe in on arrival to school, and when they exit the school site and upon their return.

When students do not have a lesson, they can use the sixth form study rooms to complete independent work.

Attitude and Academic Progress – students are expected to demonstrate a commitment to their academic study and work throughout the course. Students should utilise study periods to complete coursework, set homework and independent study this should be supported with a comprehensive programme of study and work completed at home.
