French

FRENCH

Tasks:

  1. There are 2 vocabulary topics in the pack (la famille and le patrimoine). These will be your first topics in September and so it would be good if you could learn the spelling and the meaning of as much as possible (all would be great!)

  1. Complete the grammar activities. To keep your French to a high standard we recommend that you work through the grammar activities gradually during your time off school to refresh your memory. The activities focus on the essentials to get you started. Don’t worry if there is anything you are unsure of. Your teachers will mark this and will use it to inform their planning in September.

Extras:

  • Look for the book (or film version) “No and Me” (‘No et Moi’ in French). This is a book that we study towards the end of year 12. Try to find / watch the film or find some clips, even better buy the book in English and read it!! Try to understand what the film is about and what some of the key themes are. Make notes on the story, the context and the key characters.

  • Search for this website:

Learn French with the international news – Le français facile avec RFI

Here you can listen to the French news but it has been slowed down to help your understanding. There are also transcripts available. You might not understand much at first but keep going!! As your listening and vocab skills improve you will start to understand more and more. Keep a log of any interesting pieces of news you have listened to!
